Week 6 of daily fantasy basketball is officially in the books! Here are some random thoughts:
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger & Co: I hate playing Rondo, only because he can’t shoot and doesn’t attempt many shots, but does everything else with ease. In my opinion, for daily fantasy basketball purposes, we need checkers and all other stats will come.
Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez & Co: Pace is too slow and worthless.
Carmelo Anthony, Jose Calderon, Amare Stoudemire & Co: Melo was out a few games with an injury. J.R. Smith looked to step up in his absence. Well… that completely failed. Never again Smith, NEVER AGAIN.
Michael Carter-Williams & Co: I don’t really mention anyone else because they’re useless. They are breaking records, but not in a good way. Keep in mind, MCW is probably the closest thing to a “lock” on that horrible team.
Kyle Lowry, Demar Derozan, Jonas Valanciunas & Co: Well… if you haven’t heard already with the loss of Derozan, you can lock and load Kyle Lowry every time the Toronto Raptors play. Grieves Vasquez and Lou Williams are sneaky plays.
Dirk Nowiztki, Monta Ellis, Tyson Chandler & Co: Although they play at an extremely high clip, it’s just extremely unpredictable which one of these players will go bonkers.
James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard & Co: Next to Anthony Davis, James Harden is the best daily fantasy basketball player through all formats, especially without D12. Ariza is a great supporting cast, don’t sleep on him.
Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley & Co: If you’re name isn’t Marc Gasol, we have no business selecting you. He does it all and I mean, ALL. The pace is just too slow to play the rest of the crew and besides, Gasol gets the most minutes among the roster.
Anthony Davis, Tyreke Evans, Jrue Holiday & Co: Davis FINALLY cooled off, but don’t expect that this will continue to happen. He’s easily still the #1 daily fantasy basketball player through all formats. With the loss of Eric Gordon and no timetable for return, Pelicans look to Reke and Holiday to step their games up.
Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard & Co: Unpredictable, stay away. I can’t remember the last time I played any player from this roster. There’s no way to read Coach Pop.
Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Pau Gasol & Co: I wouldn’t be surprised if DRose ended up like Brandon Roy, his injuries are just talking a toll on his body. It seems as a whole that the Bulls defense isn’t containing opposing offenses like last year. Instead, they’re giving up points and hoping to recoup them on the other end. Jimmy Butler is going to get paid this summer.
Lebron James, Kyrie Iriving, Kevin Love & Co: The King is awakening. I still think the Cavaliers will be in the finals this year.
Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, Andre Drummond & Co: On paper, this team looks stacked, but they are TERRIBLE. Josh Smith and Andre Drummond are starting to heat up. Hopefully, you catch them before they really go bananas.
David West, Roy Hibbert & Co: All offense needs to run through David West. Expect him to be a hot commodity this week since he’s essentially the only option on offense, next to his buddy Roy Hibbert. I wouldn’t play any of these bigs versus teams that like to run, it’s not their style.
Jabari Parker, Brandon Knight, Larry Sanders & Co: When on earth will Larry Sanders ever play a full game without getting into foul trouble. Giannis Antetokoumpo (“Greek Freak”), looks to be Kidd’s favorite player on the roster because of what he brings to the table physically.
Ty Lawson, Wilson Chandler, Timothy Mozgov & Co: They’re getting a lot better and all thanks to Ty Lawson. Chandler is a great supporting cast, but it seems that he could very well soon to be splitting minutes with Gallinari. My question is… when will Kenneth Faried breakout?
Mo Williams, Andrew Wiggins, Thaddeus Young & Co: This team is a MESS. Play any team versus this team, they help pace since they are practically defenseless.
Russell Westbrook, Reggie Jackson, Serge Ibaka & Co: Welcome back Westbrook! That is all.
Damian Lillard, Nicolas Batum, Lamarcus Aldridge & Co: As expected, Dame cooled off and Lamarcus Aldridge will continue to be the beast that he is. LMA does well in high pace or slower pace games, either way he should always be a great play.
Trey Burke, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors & Co: Keep away from Enes Kanter, he DOES NOT play defense. Why would any coach want to play a center that doesn’t play defense?
Jeff Teague, Paul Millsap, Al Horford & Co: Sap is the closest thing to consistency on this roster. Everyone else is question mark.
Kemba Walker, Lance Stephenson, Al Jefferson & Co: Hah! Lance Stephenson, overpaid and overvalued. He forces the issue too much and that’s probably why he gets benched in the 4th Q. Terrible signing MJ, terrible.
Mario Chalmers, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh & Co: The Chalmers hype has officially died in daily fantasy basketball. I avoid any of these players, pace is too slow.
Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, Nikola Vucevic & Co: It’s contract year for Tobias Harris and from what I’ve seen… he’s going to take any opportunity to make something happen. I fell for the Vucevic bait once and unless he’s playing the Lakers, I doubt I’m ever going to play him again.
John Wall, Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat & Co: Bradley is overvalued and Wall is too inconsistent for me to ever pick him again. For my daily fantasy basketball team, I doubt I’ll ever pick Beal.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut & Co: Curry is arguably the best point guard in the league today. Klay Thompson will continue to attempt several shots a game, but he’s not very valuable to us if he doesn’t produce in other categories. He is strong defender though.
Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan & Co: Competing with Curry as the best PG in the league is none other than Paul himself. It’s hard to say where these teams would be without these All-Star Point Guards. Blake Griffin had a strong week and for daily fantasy basketball purposes, I fully expect the offense to revolve around him.
Kobe Bryant & Co: The Black Mamba. That is all.
Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas, Gerald Green & Co: Bledsoe is probably the only for sure player among this backcourt. Although, Thomas was out the past few games nursing his ankle injury. He should be returning soon, so beware of some inconsistency with this backcourt.
Darren Collison, Rudy Gay, Demarcus Cousins & Co: Collison is a sleeper PG in daily fantasy basketball. One does not realize the stats that he accrues until after the game is over. Gay is practically a lock as long as DMC is not in the lineup. This team desperately needs Demarcus in order to stay competitive in the Western Conference.
